Who was the last person to walk on the moon?
after they landed, Gene Cernan exited the lunar lander, Challenger,making him the 11th person to walk on the moon. he was then followed by Harrison Schmitt who became the 12th and, therefore the last person to walk on the moon. but at the end of the final EVA, Gene Cernan, being the commander, was the 2nd man back into the lander making him the last person to walk on the moon.
so who was the last person to walk on the moon?
I can see Schmitts point too. If you look at Apollo 11 the same way, does that make Buzz Aldrin the first man on the moon, because hey, Armstrong was the second man to LEAVE the surface of the moon. See it's a double standard. I guess you could say Schmitt was the TWELFTH man on the moon but Cernan was LAST?? Chronologically Schmitt was last.
