For lakes, I love you can drive to Convict - unlike Crowley Lake is a real (natural, not stem flow), and has beautiful scenery and good fishing. I have also done well at Silver Lake (June Lake Loop) and above Mammoth Lakes Twin. But sometimes, I had a lot of great fishing lakes a dozen others between the Bishop and Bridgeport. If you are looking good fishing, give yourself some flexibility, otherwise be ready to deal if the fishery to where you're camping stopped.
