What's the best/most affordable way to get to the Eiffel Tower from the Paris Airport?
Subway? Train? Buss? My first time going to paris, so any help will be MUCH appreciated. Thank you!
There's more than one airport for Paris! Assuming either Orly airport or Charles de Gaulle airport:
I think the easiest way is to take RER B from the airport to Denfert Rochereau and change to ligne 6 direction Charles de Gaulle Etoile. The cost from CDG is about 9 euros; not sure of the cost from Orly. Note that you can switch from the RER to the Metro for free!
Get off the metro at Trocadero or Bir Hakeim. You'll be able to find your way to the Eiffel Tower easily.
Another person mentioned taking the RER to St. Michel Notre Dame and changing trains there...First of all, you cannot get directly to Bir Hakeim from St. Michel. Secondly, the RER is closed between Invalides and Gare d'Austerlitz till August 21, so you couldn't change trains there anyway. Now, if by chance you are traveling after the end of August, then you could change from RER B (the line you take from the airport) to RER C direction Versailles and get off at Champs du Mars.
Someone else mentioned RER A. RER A does not go to the airport and does not go near the Eiffel Tower. Check for yourself using the map at www.ratp.fr.
