Pride Affliction

Even though Pride fc was very Big, will Affliction eventually be the new MMA host.?

It seems that all the Good UFC fighters are turning to Affliction.

I would be astounded if Affliction lasts through the year. Even though Affliction has some great fighters...(Fedor has proven that nobody is even close at heavyweight) In fact, they have most of the great heavyweights. Still, with the exceptions of Fedor and Barnett, many of their most popular fighters are generally viewed as UFC castoffs. Also, Affliction pays its fighters often 4 times what UFC pays theirs and does about 1/3 of the Pay Per View buys. Finally, UFC has taken a personal stake in seeing Affliction fail. Notice that they scheduled a UFC card the week before and the week after the Affliction card. Are American MMA fans going to watch one of the greatest matches in the history of an organization they are very familiar with (Penn vs GSP) or a match with a fighter so dominant that he is heads and shoulders above anyone else in an organization that has run 2 shows? Where are the fans gonna spend their 50 bucks? Easy...the UFC card. So, let me do the math; Affliction spends 4 times the money on their fighters and takes in one third of the money through PPV...that sounds like a formula for bankruptcy to me... UFC is now and will be for the forseeable future the face of MMA. Maybe one of the smaller more solid promotions will slowly grow into a competitor (Strikeforce).
