How does Speed relate to this photo? (A moving train)?
Can someone give me an explanation on how this picture relates to speed. (Click link for photo)

There are two indices of speed that are relevant to the picture.
1. The speed of the train.
2. Shutter speed on the camera (how long the film is exposed.)
The train is moving at a rate of distance/time.
The film is exposed for a certain amount of time.
Multiply: train speed * shutter speed (x m/s * y s.)
This will give you a value of distance (how much the train moved.)
If the ratio of train speed to shutter speed is the same, you can get the same picture when the train is moving at different speeds (provided you adjust your camera's f/stop.)
